Happy Mother's Day!
Sorry I haven't been updating this thing lately, I've been fairly busy - or at least otherwise occupied, lol. FRIENDS ended on Thursday. *sigh* It was really hard to watch. I was definitely crying during the retrospective before the last show even aired...and for all you wondering, I watched it from my own living room. Although he did call during the retrospective, and after talking for 20 minutes, I basically told him I had to go, I needed to be watching the show, lol. He found this quite amusing, but of course understood (well, he pretended to understand at least!). It seems as though the people most affected by Friends ending are people in my age group. The 20-25 people. It really is the end of an era for us. I was 11 when the show first aired...and that in itself is a scary thought. I mean, at first I was looking and thinking of everything the character's and actor's on the show have gone through, and then I thought: wait a minute. I've gone through SO MUCH in the past 10 years!! INSANE amounts of firsts have happened...It's been quite the ride... I remember in high school, Katya, Jenny and I used to say we were the three girls on Friends, haha. Can anyone guess who we each were??? I was Monica, Katya was Phoebe and Jen was Rachel. Now though...I'm still very much like Monica, and Katya has become more of a Rachel. But Jen, she's no Phoebe ;) hehehe. My favourite guy was always Chandler. I went through a brief Ross stage, but it's always been Matthew Perry that I was drawn too. Okay, enough Friends talk....I could go on and on and on..........:) Earlier on Thursday, I went to my first actual class of the semester, and I quite enjoyed it. I've had this prof twice before (including just last semester actually) and I really enjoy him. I think it will be a fun class too - although that really depends on the TA.......I'm being optimistic here! After class, I went and bought my textbooks and these cute little frog magnets and paperclips! I'm talkin' CUTE! lol. I'll scan them one of these days so everyone can enjoy the cuteness with me...hehe. (stop gagging ashley!). I then walked mindlessly around downtown for awhile, stopping in the occaisional store, and then decided since I'd brought my new book with me, I'd head down to the waterfront and do some reading. Stopped for a wrap on the way, and then parked myself on a bench along the seawall (closer to the Canada Place end though) and enjoyed the sunshine. Realized I was burning the back of my neck....so I moved onto the grass behind me and faced the sun (that made sense, D'OH!)...I read for a couple of hours...I then moved up to another bench further away from the water that was partially in the shade and did more reading! It was quite the nice afternoon! I headed home around 4:30pm though, since I didn't want to risk missing ANY of Friends...;) Slept in till 10am on Friday, and started work at 12pm. And was this any ol' work day??? HELL NO! It was "Free Frappucino Day" at Starbucks....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! It was complete madness. I had been asked to come into work today to sample out Frappucinos to customers waiting in line, and to local businesses. I was even given a handful of coupons so they could come back another day and enjoy a free drink. I did this for all of 45 minutes, lol. Then, I helped out wherever I could. I made the drinks for a short while, but then it was clear that someone needed to be making the Frappucino and UBB mix and whipped cream. WELL. That is all I did. And because of all that repetitiveness, I now have a swollen hand. I'm sure it didn't help that I worked last night too - Katie and I rocked at the clean up! It was pretty much like cleaning up after 2 days worth of mess. UGH! Luckily George is taking my shift for me tonight, because I can't handle going in again. Just too much. And as it turns out, I just got off the phone right now confirming this with Mike - the shift on right now. Anyway, so all in all, Friday was a completely chaotic day, but I think most of us had fun anyway. At least Jesse and I did - we kicked ass! Without us, the store would have fallen apart ;) hehehe. That's from HIS mouth, not mine, LMAO! I went out Friday night with him, and we saw that new Hugh Jackman movie. Not my kind of movie at ALL, buuuut, that didn't matter, it was really all about going out with him....Got home not long after 2am, and hit the bed. I was exhausted. Saturday...Katya woke me up on the phone, and then I went and met her at the bank....did some mall errands (ie. buying clothes, sushi, candies), stopped at Blockbuster and rented a couple of movies, got a slurpee at Macs (chocolate milk too!) and headed to her place to lounge on the couch for the afternoon. After watching the movies, having a little dinner, a few shots of rum and some worrying over her poor bird, I headed home and went to work. That was pretty much my day yesterday. Today, being Sunday, and Mother's Day, I woke up at 1pm, hopped in the shower, and came downstairs for food and email checking. I'm now writing this and eating a delicious greek pasta salad (lettuce, rotini pasta, feta cheese, tomatoes, salt, pepper, olive oil and white wine vinegar), and contemplating wheter I should blow dry my hair or read some of my book first. My mom and Heather headed into N.Van to visit my Nana and cousins, so I think we'll do our Mother's Day thing around dinner time. I'm thinking maybe of taking my mom out for dessert, drinks and a movie. Alright, that's it for now...everyone now knows the details of my oh-so-exciting life, lol. xo ck |
