Katya and Christine's Night on the Town
Sooo....lots has happened since I last updated in here...but I'm just going to talk about Friday night. hehe.

"Katya and Christine's Night on the Town"

My mom dropped us off at the skytrain station, and we rode into downtown Vancouver. We met up with Katya's friend Saskia there and the three of us went to catch the bus. While waiting for the bus, Katya and I kept checking ourselves out in the black glass on the side of the building, hahaha. I crack myself up sometimes! LOL!

The bus came and we took the 50 False Creek to Granville Island. Walked/found (lol) Performance Works (the venue for the concert). We went inside and changed into our sexier, harder to walk in shoes. There were candles on all the tables...it was so pretty! There were 5 seats at our table, but only the 3 of us...so a nice couple in their late 40s sat down with us - they were so adorable! So romantic too...awwww...At one point the man came back from the bar, with 4 glasses of wine...one for all the ladies at the table! SO nice of him!

Matt Dusk was the guy we went to see tonight...and he was so awesome! He was funny, had the right moves, and the voice. OMG. the Voiice! *drool* He was a *bit* short though...lately I'm preferring the taller guys...;) hehe.

After the show, we went and got Matt Dusk's autograph and attempted to take a photo with him, but the battery in the camera died! DAMMIT! Oh welll...we still got hugs from him...hehe ;)

Talked to the piano player, Michael Shand, and he invited us to a little after party of sorts...which Katya and I of course could not say no to! Saskia decided not to go though...so we said goodbye to her, and K and I went to catch the bus.

We had missed it by about 4 minutes, so we waited...Katya really had to pee, hahaha, and I called Derek and we chatted a bit. I was hoping to get a ride downtown from him, but no such luck - he was in N.Van.

Caught the bus downtown and got off on Robson and Granville. Such a lively night downtown on Fridays!

Katya peed in a Starbucks, lol, and we kept walking and found O'Doul's...the locale for zee little after party...

We went in and looked for Michael Shand (aka Piano Man) but couldn't find him. We got a table and quickly looked through the menu. It was a really small and special menu for these late night jam sessions. We ordered the mango crab salad and homefries. We only drank water (with many refills I must add!! Very attentive waiter! LOL!).

Shand came...yay! and played the piano a bit - he's sooo talented! He came and sat with us, and talked for a little while. Katya was oh-so-smitten ;) annnd, I think he was too! heehee! Lots of music talk, smiles and hugs...Shand says to Katya: "Maybe next time..." WHOA! DUDE! *wink* ;)

We say goodnight to him (the band had to catch a 6am flight to Ottawa the next morning, and it was already 2am). and head out (bathroom stop on the way of course).

Katya is over the moon she's so happy...awww...We both begin to settle in with the fact that we're 'stuck' downtown for the night (the last skytrain leaves at 1:15am...oops!).

We walk down Robson Street, and it was so empty! Well, mind you the only people out there were the drunks coming out of clubs...but it was still eerily quiet.

Stop at Blendz for some tea and white hot chocolate...yum! (I still prefer Starbucks' WHC though...) While there, we played a rousing game of MASH...HAHAHAHA!!! (Remember?! like in high school?! HAHA!!!) Then we each guessed what each other REALLY wanted as the results...wow, we so know each other! (aww...:) We talked a bit with the two guys working there (Strawberry and Blueberry - because of their t-shirts). Blueberry started to clean the place ~3am, and the bleach smell was getting really strong. Annnd...he was a bit "moody" - LOL. So we took off.

Stopped at a Tim Horten's and got some chili, lol. WHY on earth we would get chili at that time of night is beyond me...but we did! lol. We each kinda slept with our heads on the table, it was nice. But I got restless so we took off...

Walked down towards Canada Place and stopped at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel to ask about the skytrain hours and the Bellboy (Christian) told us we could sit down on the couches in the lobby. So sweet! We took advantage of the offer and 1/2 layed down. Felt goood...It started to get busier around 4:30am in the lobby (who knew it was busy so early?), so we left.

We forgot to pee there though, so we tried to go at Canada Place but it was all locked up!!! WTF?! Sooo...we went to the Marriott to pee! LMAO! Hahaha, some guy seemed to be following us at one point too (that was kinda freaky...but we lost him...).

We then went back to...BLENDZ! Blueberry was still there too!!! He smiled when he saw us and asked where we'd gone (we told him) and we all laughed a bit...lol. We each got a "Chillo", Katya got mango and I got green apple. They were very fruity, sweet and yummy! Said goodbye to our Blueberry man again and headed out to the deserted street outside...Robson. It's so weird seeing it dead. It's one of the busiest, tourist-filled streets in Vancouver...this was just strange.

We arrived and Waterfront Station and hung out there till the gate was open and the skytrain was running again.

I slept a bit (okay, a lot) on the skytrain ride back home. I had never been so glad to be on a skytrain in my life!

We took the 501 back to Guildford...got home...layed on my bed...zzzzzz....

Oh man! What a night that was! Craziness! I'd do it again in a heartbeat though...it was so much fun.

Katya - you rock. I can't imagine anyone I'd rather be stuck downtown with!

Awww!

Next time...let's pack toothbrushes...;) LOL.
