Things have been so busy lately! Oy!
I went and saw Great Big Sea this past weekend...omg...had the time of my life! I sat (well, danced, lol) with Michelle, Jacyln, Cara & Colleen at the Friday night show - and then I went out to the Fox & Fiddle with Amy, Katie, Michelle & Mindy afterwards (but the twins and all their friends were also there! haha). Alison came to that show as well with two youth she knows...I got a little singing telegram from one of them, Jake. haha. That was pretty funny. Saturday was a totally different show for me. I was right up at the front of the stage (closer to Alan than LL! LMAO!) with Amy and Katie...let's see...some highlights of the night...my purse fell under the stage (seriously! It fell a few metres under and a crew guy had to get it for me...haha)...and oh man. SO MUCH happened this night. I think I'll need a separate entry just for that. Let me jump ahead here...I got home after Saturday night ~5am Sunday morning (hehehe...) and slept for awhile...got up and did some work on my assignment. I spent a good part of the day on the phone though - everyone kept calling to find out about the Saturday show! Meghan even called me! I also talked to Michelle A., Steph, Katya, Alison, Christine and others online...ahhh! It was a CRAZY time! lmao. Monday was the taping of the Vicki Gabereau show! I met Amy and Katie downtown and we went and got a MochaChillo from Blendz...it was good, but of course Starbucks' Frappucinos are much better ;) hehe. Waited around for a bit, unsure if The Town Pants were coming or not, then we went in to the studio...and it was time for the taping to begin! It was fun...hehe. GBS sang "Shines Right Thru" and "Helmethead" - I was so happy to see Bob sing! You could tell that he really enjoyed being in the spotlight and having Alan and Sean on the side. Good for him! The interview portion was hilarious as it always is...and it was nice getting our little wave from our new friend Jay. Afterwards, Amy had to leave for school, but Katie and I hung around downtown for awhile. We saw Kris and Jimmy Rankin walking around - that was exciting! hahaha. Later, I went and did some work at the Harbour Centre campus after Katie left (she was getting sick! :( poor girl). I went to get a drink from Starbucks part way through, and I saw Alan, Kris, Murray, Danny, Danny's gf and Jay. Tres exciting! They were just heading out...yup: I saw the tour bus and Budget truck drive off. *sigh* It was sad...but as the Elvidge sisters agree with me, it was also 'closure' to our amazing weekend. Tuesday I had school...and an unexpected email saying that TTP would be playing that night - only 20 min from school! I of course went (even in my lovely school clothes...sigh) and Amy, Katie, some of their friends and my aunt came too. It was fun! Heather, Aaron's gf hung out with us too. I don't know what my aunt and Heather talked about - but they seemed to get along very well! I couldn't drink too much (I had 1 bellini and 1 raspberry vodka shot) because I had to open at work...omg....sooo bloody early!!! I woke up at 4:20am...5 minutes after I was supposed to start work. OOPS! I got there at 4:45am...sigh. Oh well, they didn't mind too much... Spent the rest of the day at home studying and talking about the weekend with Katya and Alison - I'm so excited about Friday night! hehe! Anyway, for now...I need to go and shower and get some stuff done. Work tonight...but tomorrow I'm going to see Katya play with the UBC Orchestra and a bunch of us are going out afterwards. Then Saturday night is Danny Michel! EEEEEE! I'm psyched about that :) More later....and believe me, you'll want to check it out whenever I get to writing part 2...although most of you know already, it shall still be entertaining...hehehe...;) xo ck |
