Wow! It's been awhile since I've updated this...thanks Meg for pointing this out...:) Last update: March 1, 2004
~my friends~ Katya - My best friend! We've known each other for almost 8 years and our friendship has never been stronger. She’s the musical one! That’s right: not me! She’s part of the UBC Symphony Orchestra, and is so gifted with the violin...and with art! You should see her drawings – incredible. Things she likes: scorpions, motorcycles, beaches, the sun, small amounts of clothing, Australia (hell, anywhere tropical!), clubbing, dancing, and yet, somehow – she’s oh-so-single! She's Pear #3 ;) Jenny - One of my other best friends...we've been friends for almost 8 years too, but good friends for 7 years. She's the one with the drive - she knows what she wants and she'll stop at nothing to get it. She’s the “independent” one and she's got her guy...;) Jenny’s attending McGill University right now and she’s kicking ass! I got to visit her and Doris (her roommate) last summer in Montreal, and we had so much fun (“it’s not drugs!!!”). She's Pear #1 ;) Candice -As she wrote in my grade 12 yearbook...she did successfully release the "wild" Christine! haha, seriously though...if it weren't for all of Candice's asking all the time (could have put nagging...buuuut...;)I probably wouldn't have gone out to the Mirage...I'll admit it!! Other than the clubbing stuff, she's the sweetest girl I know! She's known for her sexy dance moves and that loooooong curly hair of hers :) For some reason (okay, busy schedules for one) we don't get to see each other that much right now...but we wuv each other anyway! :) Monica - My SFU buddy! Besides going to the same school (even though we really never see each other there...) we both have a great love of...InStyle magazine, coffee (mmm...Starbucks!), and a good pair of shoes! Oh wait – that’s me! She’s the handbag queen...haha ;) Don’t leave her alone in a Louis Vuitton store...or try to tear her away from her criminology books – she’s got a crush on them ;) One day in the not so far future – we’ll all be paying big money to have her has our lawyer...:) Chrissy - I worked with her at the library…she’s one of the “Tuesday Night Pages”…haha…Ohhh…the good ‘ol library days! *sigh* I do sometimes miss them…However, we do stuff together that does not involve zee books too! We sometimes go clubbing, out for dinner and to concerts together. When I think of her, a few things immediately pop into my head: blue beetle, clubbing, a certain crush on a certain band member last summer (hehehe) and that loooooong hair of hers! Ashley - This is a funny story. Ashley and I went to school together from grade 5-10, and then we really didn’t see each other in that 2 year period. Then, in fall ‘02, she’s was hired as a page at the same library I worked at! She’s really into anime (right??), odd forms of humour and almost anything with the word “evil” in it ;) I even read her livejournal too…that could’ve been a big mistake Ash… Christine -No, I'm not talking about me here! This Christine is one of my 'church' friends...we went on a road trip to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland in summer '02 together and had an incredible time! We always seem to be able to find an excuse to meet up for Tazo Chai lattes (even though she can't have them at the moment...) and talk about the many guys that seem to appear one way or another in our lives. (Can you say colour coding? hehe). Every so often she pulls out the tarot cards and gives Alison and I a reading...oyvey...that can be oh-so-enjoyable! Alison -Another church and road trip '02 friend! We're the young ones' of our little group (although technically, *sigh* I'm 'baby'...:P) and quite enjoy making sure all the older people know we're younger;) mwahahaha...We especially enjoy teasing Christine (not me!) about her guys...hehe...Alison is another huge fan of Tazo Chai lattes! Oh riiight…and she’d also be a ‘spiritual friend’…who I go drinking with. LOL. Ditto for Christine. Erin, Nancy, Tawnie, Matt, Jennie, Kerry, Ben - More of my ‘church’ friends. I do need to explain though: we don’t actually go to church together, we just know each other through the church. Haha. This may only make sense to people who know what I’m talking about (duh, I know…). Anyway…We do stuff outside of church together too, and have lots of fun. Some of us even try to meet up once a month to do something together (it doesn’t always happen though – we’re all very busy people). These people are just really awesome, good people who you’re always grateful that they’re part of your life. Meghan - Ahhh…Meg. What to say about this one! Hehe. We both have a great fondness for all things music. Specifically: Great Big Sea, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Men In Kilts, The Town Pants, Dave Matthews, Crush…just to name a few! We met because of Great Big Sea and the powers that be seem to want us to continue remaining friends! LOL. I’ve visited her at her house in Winnipeg (and MacGregor!) and she’s been here to Vancouver too. We stay up way too late talking on msn and are constantly going back and forth with our many guy stories. She loves photography, animals and all things Beatles and Russell Crowe. Did I forget anything?? I’m sure you’ll let me know if I did…heehee. Diane - Like Meghan and I, Diane and I met through GBS too. We’re both what you might call “fanatics” – but the good ones. LOL. Di’s got the coolest hair and knows how to have a good time. She has this ability to meet, talk and hang out with musicians (grrr) and somehow married a professional schmoozer (just to help in all of this!). Di’s having her first baby this July!!! Stephanie - Along with Meg, Di and me – Steph completes our little group. She’s got the cutest 2 kids, Christian and Hannah, and lives in the sunniest city in Canada. Hehe. Steph’s got a great sense of humour, and while Di goes straight for the musicians, Steph seems to prefer to hang out with the backstage guys…hehe. Steph and I make up the westcoast portion of our little group, and we feel we do a damn good job at it too! Michelle - Another GBS fan! Although the important thing with Michelle is that she was the one who introduced and turned me on to The Town Pants! Yay Michelle!! *big grin* LOL. We occasionally manage to both be able to go to a Pants show together (you know, when Michelle isn’t avoiding the band…*cough* *ahem*), and other concerts like GBS, Spirit of the West and The Paperboys (another really good local group!). Annnd…unlike my other GBS friends, Michelle only lives about 20 minutes from me! NO WAY! Hahahaha. ~my family~ Robbie - My little cousin! He'll be 5 this August...he's getting so big! He's the cutest thing ever, and all my friends swear he'll be quite a heartbreaker when he grows up ;) haha Eric - My littlest cousin...he’ll be 2 in August. I’ve got the cutest photo of the two of us in matching striped shirts...:) When he grins, you just can't help but grin back...such a teddy bear! Cathy - My aunt and mom to Robbie and Eric. It used to be we saw each other at holidays and birthdays…and that was it. Then last year I started going over for dinner a few times a month. And now, well, I see her almost every Monday! We go and see The Town Pants together and then I spend the night at her house. I’m so glad we’ve had this opportunity to hang out together; I think we’ve both learned a lot about each other (for better or worse, haha). I must add that while she is my aunt, she isn’t a whole lot older than me…which can make for some amusing conversation starters! Toby - My cat! He's orange/tan and white, and I swear, he thinks he's human! He plays catch, chases after treats and loves to sit on his stool looking out the front screen door. He's an indoor cat too :) Heather - She’d be the sister. The younger sister (can’t say little...she’s taller than me...). She’s just finishing grade 12 and is quite involved in a church where everyone speaks Spanish. This year at school, she was absorbed in the school’s Theatre Company – which I fully support!!! (I was part of TC for my grade 11 & 12 years as well) We sometimes fight...that’s right: physical fights…and I always win (she’ll never see this right??)...did I mention she plays rugby too? ;) ~people I work with~ Willa, Danica, Monica, Katey, Gillian, Amanda, Venesa, Casey, Andria, Alane, Dianne, Erin, Ferdinand, Natasha, Nathaniel, Nav, Sarah, Shauna - I work with all of these people (and some others) at Starbucks…we have so much fun working there, it’s a great place to be employed! You may see some of these names appear in my posts…now you know that I work with them…lol. |
